James S. M. Kitchen

James completed his law degree at the University of New Brunswick, where he also obtained a Bachelor of Arts (First Class Honors) in History and Philosophy. While at law school, James received several scholarships and participated in the Gale Cup Moot, a national mooting competition focused on constitutional law. He was called to the bar in Alberta in 2017.

After spending over four years in constitutional litigation with a national civil liberties advocacy organization, James launched his private practice in July 2021. As a litigator with demonstrated excellence in written and oral advocacy, James has appeared before provincial, superior and appellate level courts in multiple provinces.

James lives in the foothills northwest of Calgary with his wife and two children.
